Cranberry Cheese Tart with Linzer Pattern
Variation of: Kathi’s Delicious Apple Tart
You will need:
1 package of Kathi’s Delicious Apple Tart
For the dough: 1 egg, 5 oz (130g) butter or margarine
For the filling: 14 oz (400g) cranberry?s, 3 eggs, 9 oz (250g) curd cheese (quark), 7 oz (200g) sour cream, 1,5 oz (40g) sugar
Baking Pan:
springform pan Ø 10 inch (Ø 26cm)
Baking Time:
approx. 60 minutes
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 360°F (180°C). Generously grease and lightly flour the springform pan.
- Prepare baking mix for the dough as explained in step 1 on the backside of the baking mix.
- Blanch the fresh cranberry’s in hot sugar water for a minute. Thereafter, drain them well.
- In a new bowl, blend the curd cheese, the sour cream, the 3 eggs, the poppy seeds and the mix for the filling. Beat until smooth, then fold in the blanched and drained cranberry’s.
- Pour the filling into the prepared crust and smoothen it out.
- Now take the remaining crumbles and knead them with your hands to a smooth dough. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured, hygienic clean surface, into a rectangle. Then cut it into stripes. Decorate these stripes in a grit pattern on top of the cranberry-cheese-cream.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 60 minutes and proceed according to the instructions on the packaging.
