Once upon a time ...

... in the ancient city of Halle in the middle of Germany and in the midst of the post-war confusion, two young and gifted people fell in love: Kaethe and Kurt Thiele.

The relationship of the newly-weds, both being descendents of families of bakers and confectioners, led to a very procreative connection and companionship. Kaethe and Kurt sensed the needs of the people for nourishing and tasty foods and met their demands by creating the first convenience foods in Germany.

And just as these two lovers tied the knot in their private live, they expressed it in their company name: KATHI: KAethe and (Kurt) THIele formed KATHI in 1951.
